Welcome

Our Brothers

Theta Tau is the nation’s oldest and largest professional fraternity in the field of engineering. The national fraternity was established on October 15, 1904 at the University of Minnesota under the name The Society of Hammer and Tongs. The national fraternity has been steadily growing ever since and we now have over 45 active national chapters. From slide rules to TI-92′s, Theta Tau is steeped in tradition and helps students meet the ever-changing challenge of the modern engineer.

The Chi Beta Chapter was established on May 4, 1991 at the University of Toledo. As a co-ed fraternity, we accept all members of the engineering and engineering technology field.

As a pledge and brother of Theta Tau you will experience lifelong bonds of friendship that will endure the tests of time and last far longer than you could ever imagine. You will have all of the social and philanthropic advantages of social and service fraternities, accented by the touch of many professional development events – from guest speakers to plant tours, and even open forums with alumni brothers already established in their careers.

Membership is open to all men and women studying in the fields engineering and engineering technology. Motivated, energetic, young engineers thrive in the enviornment fostered by Theta Tau. If you are interested in creating a strong foundation for your professional life, building lifelong friendships, and giving back to your community, school, and workplace, Theta Tau may be right for you. Take some time to check us out, we are always excited to meet future engineers and brothers.
