Teetering for Tots
Teetering for Tots is a yearly twenty-four hour teeter-totter marathon. We man the teeter-totter through the hours leading up to the University of Toledo Homecoming game. You can always spot us on the Northeast side of the Glassbowl beside the Rocket.
All proceeds benefit The Sunshine Foundation in Maumee, Ohio. This is a local organization that enhances the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families. They provide services to more than 1000 individuals and families in Northwest Ohio. Federal and State funding does not provide for all the needs of the people they serve.
For this reason, Theta Tau provides a donation each year to assist their cause.
This has been an annual event for the past 17 years, and with each year we are able to raise more with the help of personal and corporate donations. Last year we raised more than $1200 for Sunshine Foundation, and we plan to raise even more this year!
The event will start on October 21st at 7:00pm and will run until the start of the homecoming game on October 22nd. We encourage everyone to stop by and hangout with us during the marathon. Visitors, and donations, are always welcome!
Sunshine has been active for over 60 years. Starting in just a small farmhouse in Maumee, Ohio, it is now a booming organization providing care for over 1000 disabled persons. You can visit Sunshine at this link.
